A new Korn Ferry Futurestep survey of over 1,000 talent acquisition professionals found 54% of respondents said it was harder to find qualified talent compared to 12 months ago.
Of particular interest in attracting talent was the finding that historically successful strategies for attracting employees have changed significantly. Five years ago compensation was ranked as the top reason for choosing an employer, whereas today culture is stated as the number one reason for selecting one employer over another.
"But the future will likely bring a new set of candidate expectations. Talent acquisition executives predict “workplace flexibility” will be the top reason why candidates choose an employer five years from now. This flexibility goes well beyond workers’ hours and location, to the very nature of the employee-employer relationship."
